Paper Tides offers shipping and fulfillment services that allow artists to reach wider audiences. This also means that no matter your location, Paper Tides can receive digital files, print on demand, and drop ship to customers anywhere. 

Packaging is 90% post-consumer + 100% recyclable.

Services

  • In some cases, you want to hold your resources close and do not want customers to know where your prints are shipping from. This means that instead of a Paper Tides return address, it would be yours. This is a little extra legwork that has a fee of $5.

  • For a minimal fee, based on the percentage of your overall cost, you can elevate your print fulfillment game by having Paper Tides handle special elements that bring your customers customized prints.

    These services can look like, custom stamped signatures/branding of prints, digital signatures, signing print editions, creating custom cards/notes to customers, special packaging, and more.

  • Paper Tides can provide a print with a certificate of authenticity (already in-house) at the request of artists. Signature is required by artists. If you have your own COA, they can be sent to Paper Tides, stored, and added to prints when they ship out.

  • Anything that signifies to your customer that they just received YOUR artwork, I’m happy to add to the package. These items could be stickers, business cards, pre-written notes, etc.

  • If you are a printer and need custom/fine art work done, Paper Tides is a perfect co-creator. Specialty projects will be considered for an industry discount. Most industry discounts will no longer be available in 2024. However, you will not be charged a Blind Shipment fee.

The Process

We use the trusty folks at USPS to handle all shipments but can also use a client’s Fedex or UPS account upon request. 

Packaging is eco-friendly and can be reused or recycled without any hassle. Under 16” x 20” prints are shipped flat-packed. All larger prints are shipped rolled in sturdy tubes. 

Pricing is based on the size + weight of the package // all packages are packed securely while not being excessive with materials. 

  • Sometimes you want to package your prints with a little more pizazz. This could look like clear bags and backing (commonly seen anywhere that prints are sold), or paper-wrapped prints. Or any custom packaging that you supply.

  • I use 3” diameter tubes, flat Kraft envelopes, and custom boxes for shipping artwork. Prints are covered with glassine paper. All prints are protected against the weather elements. 



    If you end up wanting to fulfill your own orders, please do! See below my recommend suppliers:

    · Eco-Enclose, The Boxery, and Noissue.
    · Like me, you can also start hoarding cardboard, paper, bubble wrap, etc that comes from things you get in the mail. Reuse them!

  • If you’ve never printed before, or this is your first time printing with Paper Tides, it’s highly recommended to do a round of test prints and proofing. Especially if you are concerned about sizing - it’s great to proof at 100% scale so you can see the detail at the largest size you are hoping to print. This can be something that happens while you are still making all of the order decisions.

  • Sometimes, I can store a small run of edition prints in the studio. This allows you to get a discount on a run of prints and offers ease of fulfillment.

    !! print storage does not mean that your customer can pick up from the studio (sorry) .
